Benefits of Alternative Investments

1. Portfolio diversification: Alternative investments often have low or negative correlation with traditional assets like stocks and bonds, making them valuable for portfolio diversification. By including alternatives, investors can reduce risk and minimize the impact of market volatility, leading to more stable returns.

2. Higher Rates of Return: Many alternative investments, such as venture capital and private equity, offer higher return potential compared to traditional assets. When properly integrated into a portfolio, these investments can generate substantial growth without adding excessive risk.

3. Inflation Protection: Certain alternatives, like real estate, perform well during inflationary periods, often rising in value as prices increase. Including such assets in a portfolio can help protect capital’s purchasing power when inflation erodes the value of cash and traditional investments.

4. Access to Unique Markets: Alternative investments offer exposure to markets and strategies not available through traditional channels, such as venture backed start-ups, growth capital for emerging technologies, distressed assets, and private secondary markets. This provides opportunities for high-growth or undervalued sectors, offering the potential for outsized returns.

What We Do

Alternative investments, or “alternatives,” encompass diverse asset classes beyond traditional stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Institutional investors have long utilized alternatives to diversify their portfolios, achieving outsized gains while minimizing risk.

After years of investing in the full spectrum of alternatives, we uncovered unexpected synergies between real estate, venture capital, and pre-IPOs. Combining these seemingly disparate asset classes can give our clients enhanced risk-adjusted returns and hedge against stock market volatility.

At Acuity, we take a holistic approach to portfolio management. By leveraging our founders’ 30 years of experience across various market cycles, we can craft tailored strategies and allocate capital effectively.

We take pride in educating investors interested in alternatives and prioritize building strong, personal relationships with a select group of clients—people we truly enjoy working with and learning from.

Our mission is clear: to deliver exceptional value through access, expertise, and carefully curated opportunities in the alternative investment space.
